My story
I have been a Communications and Professional Development professor for many years and I have taught college students that lacked life skills that were necessary for their success in college. The lack of preparation made it difficult for them to adapt and succeed in a collegiate environment.
The problem is lack of exposure to life development skills. The solution: introduce young people to powerful life skills at an early age so that they can practice and develop them into adulthood. Knowledge is power, ignorance is not bliss and common sense is not common. The truth is some of these students just do not know. They need guidance.
Growing up I was privileged to attend professional development workshops at an early age that prepared me for adulthood. Over the years, I have attended and facilitated various PD workshops for adults and I have seen the positive results. If these workshops are effective for adults, the possibilities are endless for young people.
